Later in Fezebel Marsh, Ivar activates the Lance of Kresnik and punches a hole in the schism, allowing Elympios's army in to enact the Otherworld Reactor Plan. In the palace in Fennmont, after Jude, Milla, and the rest of the party fight with Nachtigal, Gilland has his spyrite Celsius assassinate Nachtigal with ice. Milla pursues Gilland and Nachtigal, but the explosive anklets cripple her, and the duo got away. However, Fort Gandala is successfully infiltrated by Jude, Alvin, and Rowen. In Fort Gandala, he has Teepo taken to the lab to extract booster knowledge and has the women wearing anklets that would kill them if they went through a certain field of light in the corridor. He and a few soldiers of Nachtigal invade Sharilton and kidnap civilians for further experiments, including Milla, Elize, Teepo, and Driselle. Fenn, king of Rashugal, and spurs of the development of boosters as well as the Lance of Kresnik. Gilland has the further goal of enacting the Otherworld Reactor Plan to harvest Rieze Maxia for mana to supplement Elympios's lack of it. While the bulk of Exodus enact assassination attempts on Milla Maxwell, Gilland enters the employ of Nachtigal I. Gilland is the leader of Exodus, a group of citizens from another world called Elympios who were stranded on Rieze Maxia. He now has silver hair with fringe, lacking colored tips, and he wears a black undershirt with a red tie, a white vest, and a blue coat. In Tales of Xillia 2, Gilland appears in a fractured dimension where, with a different social position, his style differs from the one seen in the game's prequel. He wears a blue bolero with a black cape attached to the left shoulder, black gloves, baggy pants, and shoes. His attire consists of a black under-vest with narrow, silver, and vertical stripes, from which four blue long tails protrude. He has red-brown eyes and white marks on the left side of his face. In Tales of Xillia, Gilland has short silver hair with red tips combed to the back and two red bangs framing his face.
